The ISG Seminar is a gathering place for faculty and staff at Brown and nearby colleges and universities who have expertise or academic interest in LGBTQ studies to discuss new books in the field. We convene 4-5 times over the academic year at the John Hay Library, and our reading and discussions prioritize work in the interpretive and archival social sciences to complement existing spaces at Brown that nurture theoretical thinking in LGBTQ studies.
The Seminar convenes as a stable group or "class," which disbands and then reconvenes each academic year. ISG covers the cost of all books for participants.
